Mechanical Testing
Our experienced Mechanical Testing Technicians are supported by qualified tradespeople and associated engineering workshops. Amdel provides a one-stop-shop - milling, turning and grinding individual ferrous and non ferrous metallic test specimens supplied by our clients. For polymeric and composite materials, Amdel has exclusive access to injection moulding equipment and tooling for the production of individual test specimens from bulk raw material supplied by our clients and manufacturers. Services Include:
• Ambient and elevated temperature tensile, proof, bend and flexural testing at loads ranging from 50N to 2,000kN.
• Ambient and cryogenic (-196 ºC) charpy and izod impact testing, fracture appearance and lateral expansion.
• Portable, macro and micro hardness testing and surveys - Rockwell, Brinell and Vickers.
• Heat treatment trials on samples 400 x 400 x 150mm at temperatures up to 1,200 ºC.
• Macro examination of welds, ferrous and non-ferrous procedure certification, and weld consumable testing.
• Product and assembly testing of metallic and non metallic components (springs, slings, fasteners, etc) and assemblies.
• Destructive and non-destructive coating thickness evaluation and certification.
